Sunstrike Telecom, a Hong-Kong-based smartphone company has now launched its latest KitKat-based smartphone called the Rage Swift. The phone is ridiculously priced at Rs. 2,999 at which Celkon launched its KitKat-powered smartphone called the Campus A35K more than a month ago.
Since, the advent of the low-end KitKat phones or Moto E in India, most of the domestic smartphone vendors like Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and even Xolo have been trying to use the new version of the software as a unique selling point. But the price range we are talking about here is between Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 8,000.
However, when Celkon launched the Campus A35K at Rs. 2,999, it emerged as the first smartphone maker to bring KitKat-powered phone at the price range of a feature phone. Since the price of the smartphone is very low, you can't expect advanced hardware.
The latest entry-level Rage Swift is a similar device. It runs on Android KitKat and comes with support for 3G. Other specs include a 3.5-inch qHD display with a pixel density of 315ppi. It is a dual-SIM smartphone.
Even in such a low price point, the company has been able to squeeze in a 1.3MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. The phone also supports 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It uses a 1600mAh battery to power up its system. The company has not unveiled any details on the RAM and internal storage capacity at the moment.
However, the phone comes in black color and the company is also said to bundle a crystal cover free with the handset.
Chanpreet Singh, managing director, Sunstrike, said, "Rage Swift has all the trendy features, and it runs on KitKat, the latest Android version, & yet we have kept our product very affordable for everyone. This is our gift to all the brothers and sisters who will celebrate this pious festival. We are quite optimistic that Swift will receive a tremendous response from customers."
