The CES 2013 is one of the biggest platforms for companies to showcase their new and upcoming products. The absence of two giants Microsoft and Apple was marked but there are a host of other companies who made the best of this opportunity to highlight their products and technology in the show.

The sandbagging event gave this year some of the best launches in the smartphone category, representing a spectacular outset of 2013. Here are some glimpses of the top ten smartphones launched in 2013 so far, owing to CES 2013.

Samsung ATV Odyssey

Samsung, the South Korean giant has kept its promise and revealed Samsung ATV Odyssey at the CES 2013. It was a promise made several months ago, to bring come out with a phone for its users that run on Windows Phone 8, the latest Microsoft OS. The phone comes with a 4-inch display and is a mid-range smartphone. It has a body made up of plastic and is powered by a dual-core processor. The phone has a storage space of 8GB and also features an AMOLED touch-screen display (800X480). The price and release date of the phone is not known yet but it is expected to be quite affordable. The company had announced that the phone will go on sale through Verizon.

The phone comes with ‘Magic Touch' capability which allows the users to see the screen even when it is covered by a pair of gloves. The pricing of the device is not known but the sources say that the device will roll-out in China from February.

ZTE Grand S

World's thinnest phone was unveiled by ZTE in CES 2013. The device comes with a 5-inch HD (1920X1080) display, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB built-in storage space, a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and a micro SD slot. The device is runs on a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor. The full HD phone is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered. The pricing and release date of the device is not known.

Sony Xperia Z

A flagship Android phone has been revealed by Sony at CES. It is expected that Xperia Z would turn out as the star of CES 2013. It is the most elegant handset ever. The phone features a 5-inch screen and is powered by 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. It has a 2 GB RAM and is water and dust proof. The phone can withstand bout 30 minutes in water without harm. With high-end features, apps and innovations, Sony Xperia Z stands out among other smartphones.

Sony Xperia ZL shares most of its features with its sibling Sony Xperia Z but it is slightly tad and thicker compared to Xperia Z. The finish at the back is different and not water-proof like Xperia Z. The device is android powered and has a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor. The device is far less in reach than Xperia Z.

It is 10.15mm thin, has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, a 4-inch display with OTGS technology, and a 1950mAh battery. The phone also has a 470 hours stand-by time which is the longest in smartphone class. The phone comes in an array of colors namely red, black, blue and white. It also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The price of the product is not revealed yet.

One of the trio-smartphones from the French firm was unveiled at CES 2013. The phone has a 4.7-inch LCD display, 512GB RAM, 1 GHz dual-core processor, an 8 MP camera and 4 GB of internal storage. The device is Android Jelly Bean powered and has a 7.9mm chassis. The phone also fascinates the users with an array of nine colors.

Lenovo K900

Lenovo K900

Lenovo launched its flagship smartphone in the Consumer Electronics Show 2013. The phone sports a 5.5-inch screen. It is powered by an Intel Atom processor. The display of the phone is shielded by Gorilla Glass 2. The phone runs on Android and weighs 162g. The phone is expected to be released in China in April and some time later in other countries. The phone has a Power VR SGX 544MP graphics processing unit and 2 GB RAM.

The global information and communications technology solution provider came out with a 5-inch Super Retina LCD display Ascend D2, a quad-core CPU and 13-megapixel BSI camera. The Ascend D2 has a stand-by time of six days on WCDMA. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and is water and dust resistant. The phone provides good color accuracy and clarity. It has a stylish and elegant design with an aluminum body. The company has announced that Ascend D2 will arrive in India later this year.
