Ever since Android Os became such a sensation as we see today, manufacturers have been working tirelessly to introduce better and more affordable phones especially Smartphones that employ Android OS technology. As a result today we have Android OS powered phones in almost every known segment of phones including basic entry level phones. The rise in usage in Android OS has led to Smartphones featuring full touch screen interfaces becoming cheaper than ever before. Now you can lay your hands on a touch screen phone featuring all the latest technologies for just around Rs 8000.

Today we make a comparative study of two Smartphones from two different manufacturers in order to select an affordable touch screen Android Smartphone. The models are Viewsonic V350 and Micromax A70.

Both the phones are full touch screen Smartphones that run on the Android Froyo OS and feature almost similar interfaces that are highly user friendly and intuitive to use.

Viewsonic V350 feature is it has a slightly bigger screen of 3.5 inches as compared to the 3.2 inch of Micromax A70. The slightly bigger size facilitates more readability and visual clarity.

The phones are purely aimed for Smartphone buffs in India and as such packs in a lot of stuff. Both the phones have a powerful 5 mega pixel camera that provides superb image quality and offers facilities such as Autofocus and Digital zoom. But on the downside neither of the phones offer high definition video recording. They only offer VGA recording.

On the entertainment side both Viewsonic V350 and Micromax A70 offer tons of support for a wide variety of multimedia formats in both audio and video category and that includes high definition video playback support in h263 and h264 formats.

The phones fare well on the connectivity side as both have Bluetooth version 2.1 and USB PC connectivity that allows transfer of data among various devices and your phone. The phones also have Wi-Fi internet connectivity for internet browsing at malls and other hotspots.

Both the phones offer support for GPRS, EDGE and 3G high speed internet connectivity and as such internet on the go is never a problem with either of the two.
Viewsonic V350 and Micromax A70 feature is both have good internal memory and have external memory expansion capability via a micro SD card that can be expanded up to 32 GB of storage.

The pricing are is where Micromax A70 actually steamrolls the Viewsonic V350. Both the phones offer near equal features but the A70 is priced at just Rs 7699 where as the V350 will retail for around Rs 14500 which is almost double the former"s price tag. Thus Micromax A70 is the better choice of the two.
