Few months back, there were lot of rumors about the ViewSonic Corporation coming up with a handset with highly anticipated Iris technology. Now as per the latest reports by GizmoChina, the ViewSonic is all set to launch the new smartphone at this year's CES 2015. Dubbed as ViewSonic V55 will have the next generation Iris technology.
Basically, Iris scanner which is on the top right corner of the phone, is said to scan the owner's unique eye pattern for biometric identification. With this technology, only the owner, whose eye pattern is recorded can unlock and access information from the smartphone, which makes this a very secured mode of identification.
Unlike finger print scanner, which is exposed, this Iris scanner is hidden from the view. If the user wants to unlock the phone, they will have to slide the small piece concealing the scanner. When they slide it open, a light will turn on indicating that Iris scanner has turned on.
