Vivo Teases World’s Slimmest Smartphone at 3.85mm Thickness

At just 4.85mm thick, the Oppo R5 is the 'slimmest smartphone' in the world. If you thought the Oppo R5 was slim, think again. The Chinese handset maker, Vivo, plans to launch a super slim smartphone in the coming days to come.

Apparently, the upcoming smartphone from Vivo, will measure 3.85mm in terms of thickness, making it the slimmest smartphone in the world, beating the Oppo R5.

Vivo Teases World’s Slimmest Smartphone at 3.85mm Thickness

The young Chinese company has just teased its forthcoming device. Although Vivo is mum about the device's highlighted specs and features. It's said that the smartphone maker will soon showcase the world's slimmest smartphone.

Measuring a mere 3.85mm thick, Vivo's upcoming super thin smartphone will surely surpass the likes of Oppo's R5 and easily beats the Gionee Elife S5.1.

However, there are some core issues attached using a slim smartphone. For instance, the Oppo R5 doesn't have a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple iPhone 6 Plus, yet another slim phone, has been in the news for wrong reasons. Reportedly, there have been issues related to bending.

Oppo R5 Will Soon Land in India

It is being reported that Oppo might launch the world's slimmest smartphone, Oppo R5, in India by December 2014. The phone comes with decent specifications, despite being so slim. It has got a 5.2-inch, 1080 x 1920-pixel resolution AMOLED display and is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor (quad 2.1-GHz and quad 1.5-GHz).

The phone offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, but it doesn't have a microSD card for expandability or a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has a 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. The R5 also boasts VOOC rapid charging. The device has a 2,000mAh battery fitted inside. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Oppo's Color OS 2.0 layered on top of Android.
