Pricing and Availability
Apart from specifications, the Wickedleak phablet is widely acclaimed to be a stiff competitor to Micromax Canvas HD. However, Wickedleak has priced Wammy Passion Y HD at Rs 16,999, which is significantly higher than the price of Canvas HD, which sells at Rs 13,990. Reason being, its bigger battery and better front camera.
Why Buy Wammy Passion Y HD Over Canvas HD?
Firstly, lets take a look at the specs of Canvas HD. The phablet has a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Analyzing the specs, it is clear that both the devices have similar specs. While this is the case, why should consumers opt for Wammy Passion Y HD, which is more expensive? Of course, there are few reasons for the same. The Wickedleak phablet has an upper hand over Canvas HD in numerous aspects.
Eventually, Gizbot has come up with a collective list of top 5 aspects justifying why one should buy Wammy Passion Y HD over Canvas HD. Read it below.
Upgradeable to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
Both the phablets may be based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, however, Wickedleak claims that it's offering can be upgraded to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which is the latest version of the OS as of now. Wickedleak is one of the India based manufacturers, who is prompt in releasing Android upgrades to its devices.
It is to be noted that the company rolled out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade to Wammy Note, which was initially launched with ICS. Hence, Wammy Passion Y HD can be seen getting the 4.2 Jelly Bean version anytime soon.
Enhanced Camera Features
Both the phablets come with an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. However, Wickedleak claims that the rear camera in Wammy Passion Y HD has 4X zoom and has the ability to capture 99 burst shots at a time.
Lightweight Profile
According to the company press release, Wammy Passion Y HD measures 146 grams, which is relatively lightweight, as compared to the other phablets existing in the market including Canvas HD.
Attractive Freebies
Wammy Passion Y HD comes with a free screen guard to protect the display from scratches and damage and a silicon back case that will offer grip and protect the edges of the phablet.
Beefed-up Battery
Wickedleak has incorporated a beefed-up 2,800 mAh battery in Wammy Passion Y HD, which seems to be a significant upgrade as compared to the 2,000 mAh battery in Canvas HD.
