Finally the day has come when we witness the launch of Sony's flagship device, the Xperia Z2, which will battle against Samsung's Galaxy S5 and HTC's One M8. Just to recap on our exclusive story from yesterday, we received a few information about the device, which surprised us all.

The bytes we received yesterday hints at the price of the Xperia Z2 at Rs. 49,990. But that is not the punch-line here. Our source, in fact told us that the Japanese smartphone maker will bundle its ‘SmartBand', a fitness-tracking wearable with Xperia Z2. To be precise its the Sony SmartBand SWR10 wristband that we are talking about.

However, the Xperia Z2 launch event in India is slated for 1:00 PM IST today and thus GizBot has brought the live streaming of the launch event (Delhi, India) right in front of you.

In terms of Specs, Sony Xperia Z2 features a 5.2-inch "Triluminos" display offering a Full HD resolution of 1080pixels. It runs on a 2.26 GHz MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The Android 4.4 Kitkat powered device will be offered in 16GB/32GB variants, and a powerful 3200 mAh battery will be powered by handset.

Obviously one of the aspects that is worth mentioning in the Sony Xperia Z range of phones is the camera hardware and waterproof build. Thus on the camera front, the handset comes with a 20.7-megapixel camera with 4K video recording capabilities, alongside a 2MP front-facing camera. Moreover, the Xperia Z2 is also IP55 and IP58 certified, making the device rugged in nature (water and dustproof).
