Today Wickedleak, one of the India-based smartphone makers, has officially launched its latest 5-inch smartphone dubbed as Wammy Neo at a price of Rs. 11,990. The handset which is surprisingly powered by an octa core processor will be made available in black and white color variants via the official Wickedleaks' site starting June 15.
The Wammy Neo sports a 5-inch IPS display offering a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, it comes powered by a MediaTek true octa-core processor (MTK6592) clocked at 1.7GHz and Mali MP GPU coupled with 2GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS which is upgradeable to 4.4 KitKat OS.
On the camera front, one can expect a 13-megapixel snapper and 5-megapixel front-facing camera, along with features like Motion Capture and Voice Capture. Wammy Neo's 8GB internal memory is expandable up to 64GB. The connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is powered by a 2,220 mAh battery.
In terms of features, Wammy Neo is powered by AquaProtect Technology (Optional 1500 Rs Extra) making it probably the most affordable Octa core smartphone available in the market, launched till date with AquaProtect Technology, a specialized process that applies a liquid repellent substance inside and out of the Wammy Neo. With the help of AquaProtect, Wammy Neo can sustain for more than 30mins in water.
The smartphone will have a very tough time to compete with the devices that are being launched in the native market at the moment. And with the devices such as Moto E, Micromax Unite 2, Canvas Engage and Lava Iris X1 that are being sold in a voracious number, it is tough for Wickedleak to tap the market at the moment.
