Wickedleak Wammy Neo Youth: Octa-Core Smartphone Launched at Rs 8,490
Back in May 2014, Indian smartphone maker Wickedleak launched the Octa Core SoC powered Wammy Neo smartphone at the price of Rs. 11,990. Now the company has launched its latest smartphone called the Wammy Neo Youth at the price of Rs. 8,490.

The Wickedleak Wammy Neo Youth comes in white color and would be available for pre-order from comapny's official website from July 15th. The only difference you will find between the Wammy Neo and the new one is the RAM. The latest one comes with a lesser RAM of 1GB compared to 2GB RAM in the Wickedleak Wammy Neo.
Wickedleak Wammy Neo Youth: Key Specifications
Wickedleak Wammy Neo Youth sports a standard 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and comes powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali MP GPU complimented with a 1GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS, upgradeable to 4.4 KitKat OS.
Wickedleak has offered a high-end camera module in the handset. At the rear side, the Wammy Neo Youth features a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and 1080p video recording and at the front face you will find a 5MP front-facing shooter as well.

The smartphone which measures 7.7 mm thick houses an 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 32 GB and features a wide range of connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. Moreover, it is a Dual SIM handset and draws its energy from a 2,220 mAh battery.
Additionally, it comes with an optional Aquaprotect Water Resistant Technology at Rs. 1,500 that would let the smartphone sustain for more than 30 minutes in water.
What Makes It Better Than Other Smartphones?
Just today HTC launched the octa core phone called the Desire 616 in the Indian market and it is priced as a mid-ranger. However, the one launched by Wickedleak is considerably more affordable than the one from HTC. Apart from this, there are other octa core powered smartphones already selling in the Indian market, one of them being the popular Gionee Elife S5.5. But these are quite expensive.
Thus, if you are looking to buy an octa core smartphone in this range of less than Rs. 10,000, there are several others available but not at this affordable price.
Moreover, there are several smartphones being launched in the Indian market with KitKat OS and quad core processors. But again these don't offer an impressive camera. But with the Wickedleak Wammy Neo Youth buyers will get a better camera modules, which you won't find in any of the phones priced at this range.
Competition
If the latest smartphones are to be taken into account, the Xiaomi's Mi3 would be the perfect opponent for the newbie from Wickedleak. The Mi3 has the upper hand since it has a greater RAM and better CPU from Qualcomm - the Snapdragon 800. Moreover, you will also get Android KitKat out of the box.
