Wickedleak, a Mumbai based tech manufacturer and the maker of Wammy Note phablet and Wammy Desire tablet has now expanded its smartphone portfolio with Wammy Sensation - a 4.7 inch smartphone.

Wammy Sensation comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it is upgradeable to Jelly Bean. Moreover, the dual SIM handset is priced Rs 16,000, which is reasonable.

Dimensions & Weight: Wammy Sensation measures 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm and weighs in at 145 grams.

Display: When it comes to display, the handset boasts a 4.7 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.

Processor: In this segment, Wammy Sensation has a 1.2GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor with SGX531 GPU.

Operating System: As claimed by the company press release, Wammy Sensation loaded with Android 4.0 ICS can be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Camera: The handset sports a 12MP rear camera and 3MP front camera for video calling.

Storage: In terms of memory storage, Wammy Sensation has 4GB internal storage capacity, 1GB RAM and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage.

Connectivity: When it comes to data connectivity, the handset comes packed with features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, in-built GPS with A-GPS and 3G.

Battery: The handset is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery offering 4 hours of talk time and 200 hours of stand by.

Wammy Sensation is priced at Rs 16,000 and the handset is available for pre-booking at Wickedleak's website www.wickedleak.org and will be shipped starting from December 15, 2012.

Competition with Samsung Galaxy S3

Earlier, Wickedleak announced Wammy Note, a phablet to compete with Samsung Galaxy Note, the first generation phablet launched by the South Korean tech giant for Rs 11,000. Now, the India based vendor has come up with Wammy Sensation, a smartphone with 4.7 inch display and a price tag of Rs 16,000.

Talking about the specs, Galaxy S3 sports a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, quad core 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera for video calling, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, 3G and 2,100 mAh Li-ion battery.

Initially launched with Android 4.0 ICS operating system, Galaxy S3 - the hottest selling smartphone of the year has received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade.
Moreover, Galaxy S3 is priced at Rs 34,900 for 16GB variant and Rs 41,300 for 32GB variant respectively.

With a lesser price tag, dual SIM support, improved front and rear camera performance, Wammy Sensation could offer a tough competition for Galaxy S3, however, the latter comes with a faster quad core processor and NFC connectivity.
