Windows Phone 8 Causing Big Battery Drain and Random Reboot Issues for HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 920 Users
The market has been witnessing the release of Windows Phone 8 devices from earlier this month and users have already logging in issues related to Nokia and HTC Windows 8 handsets.
According to a recent development in the tech media world, HTC 8X Users have been reporting issues in WPCentral with almost 150 discussion threads where many of them complain about their devices rebooting randomly. Microsoft's support forums saw a barrage of complaints too.
Issuers are being reported by Nokia Lumia 920 users as well regarding random reboots and poor battery life and freezes. Discussions in Nokia's support forums saw many Lumia 920 users complaining about the same, with their handsets plagued by random lock-ups and resets. Users have been trying different methods to improve their device battery life with some of them trying a quick fix by wiping their devices. However, this method seemed to backfire since devices were left stuck displaying the Nokia splash screen.
It has been observed that a simple way to improve the battery life to some extend is to disable the feature, ‘tap + send’ (NFC).
Windows Phone 8 devices have not been launched in the Indian market yet, but HTC has announced its tentative release sometime this month along with its pricing. However, Nokia seems to be giving India a miss at the moment, while disclosing that its flagship Windows 8 device will not be launched in the country this month.
The companies have not responded to the reported issues yet, but one can be sure that they will come up with an update to address these early issues of Windows Phone 8.
