Xiaomi Event Scheduled On May 15: Mi3S, MiPad and More Expected

One of the Chinese smartphone makers, which has astounded the mobile phone fans in most of the markets is Xiaomi. The four year old company, best known for its unique business model of selling its devices directly via its official online store announced its plans to expand its business in India including 9 other markets recently. And now the company has announced an event in Beijing, China at Beijing National Convention Center on May 15th to unveil its new devices.

Xiaomi Event Scheduled On May 15: Mi3S, MiPad and More Expected

The company which is now part of Android hardware builder announced the event via its official Twitter account, but it has not revealed any details about what it will showcase or launch at the event. But speculations are mostly tilted towards the launch of Mi3S and MiPad that was leaked recently. Rumors have it that the company might also showcase its new Xiaomi Smart TV and new version of MIUI firmware.

Xiaomi has not officially spoken about the devices yet but if rumors and leaks are to be taking into account, the Xiaomi Mi3S will come with 5-inch 1080p display. It will be powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It is also rumored to come with 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G (FDD LTE / TD-LTE) support, 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. As far as pricing is concerned, the Mi3S is speculated to hit the native market at a starting price of $320 (approx. Rs. 19,190).

On the other hand, the MiPad, which also leaked couple of months back, will sport either 9 or 10-inch 720p display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU and MiUI based on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). But Xiaomi is said to come with two tablets one with 7.85-inch 2048x1536p display and other with 9.2-inch 1280x800p display. So things are pretty blurry at the moment.
