Xiaomi Mi 3 Sold Out In 39 Minutes On Flipkart

Xiaomi's significant entry in the Indian smartphone market has apparently pleased a lot of customers owing to its almost perfect price points. At the same time, the company's strategic partnership with Flipkart - a major e-commerce site in India to sell Xiaomi Mi 3 exclusively has also worked out for the company.

 
Xiaomi Mi 3 Sold Out In 39 Minutes On Flipkart

This can be said as on the day of launch itself, that is July 22, China-based smartphone maker announced that its entire Mi 3 stock was sold out in 38 minutes and 50 seconds on Flipkart. The registrations to purchase the device were open till July 21st and they saw over 100,000 fans, who came in to buy the Mi 3.

For those who are not aware, Xiaomi forayed into the India market on July 15 with Mi 3 smartphone launchh. The maker of the Redmi series of smartphones has offered the best of the specs to Mi 3. To be precise, it uses the typical hardware that can be found in last year's flagship devices. Moreover, what attracted most towards the phone was the price which was just Rs. 13,999.

Commenting on the sales, Manu Jain, India Operations Head, Xiaomi, said, "We are pleasantly surprised and delighted with the overwhelming response we have received from our India fans. We would like to apologize to our fans who couldn't purchase the Mi 3 today. We are responding immediately to the commitment shown to us by our customers by focussing on the following - we are working with Flipkart to ensure the experience of purchase is improved further and technical issues are resolved."

He further added, "for the next sale on July 29th only, we will ensure that customers who missed out on today's sale are automatically registered to buy Mi 3 on 29th. We underestimated the demand we would receive and we are taking steps to ramp up the supply as soon as possible. That being said we are committed that over the next few months, every fan in India will get to own a Mi device."

Also Michael Adnani, VP-Retail and Head- Brand Alliances, Flipkart said, "It is very encouraging to see the scale of response towards Xiaomi Mi3 that is exclusively available on Flipkart. We were confident of the success of Mi3 in India. It has done extremely well internationally and we naturally wanted to be able to bring this world-class device to our customers in India. We are working with Xiaomi to ensure that the purchase experience lives up to our Flipkart promise of excellence."

Xiaomi Mi 3: Key Specifications

Just a reminder, if you're interested to buy this smartphone, Xiaomi Mi3 sports a 5-inch IPS display offering a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 441ppi pixel density with Corning Gorilla glass protection. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM 8974AB) processor coupled with 2GB DDR3 RAM and it runs a custom interface dubbed MIUI that is a very different take on Android.

Other specs include: 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, Sony Exmor BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p full HD video recording, 2MP front-facing camera, 16 GB internal memory, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC and will draw its energy from a 3050mAh battery.
