The remarkable smartphone range that the company has launched in India viz the Mi3, Redmi Note and Redmi 1S are potential enough to change the gameplay in the Samsung and Micromax dominated smartphone market in India.
Now it looks like the prevailing mobile makers in the market are all set to get another jab from Xiaomi. We can say this, as Xiaomi Mi4, which is slated to go official on July 22 has already got listed on the company's official website.
Yes, you heard it right! Prior to the launch, the smartphone has already been listed on Xiaomiworld, company's official website at the price of $599.99. The phone looks very premium and if the price is to be converted into Indian currency, you are looking at the device worth Rs. 36,086. According to the site, the flagship product will be available in countries including Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Russia, Brazil, Vietnam, Turkey, Thailand, and India.
The Mi4 was made official through an image teaser on Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun's Weibo account. However, now that it is up on the company's website showing its full metal body, looks like, Xiaomi cofirmed the existence of the smartphone ahead of the launch event.
Xiaomi Mi4 - Key Specifications
Xiaomi Mi4 sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2K) display offering a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and churns out the pixel density of 538 ppi which is in par with LG G3 which is another QHD device due to launch in India next week. The Mi4 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM. It runs on MIUI V5 based on Android 4.4 KitKat version. Imaging will be pretty amazing as the company has used a 16 Megapixel OIS rear camera in the phone, and you will also get to see a premium 5-megapixel front facing shooter as well. Internal storage capacity will be seated at 32GB along with a microsSD card slot. Further it will also support GSM, 3G WCDMA, 4G FDD-LTE networks and it comes packed with a 3200 mAh Li-Po battery.
QHD Smarpthone Battle Imminent This Month?
Looking at the specs of the handset, it is imminent that Xiaomi mi4 could easily beat LG G3, the Snapdragon 801 powered Android biggie which is set for India launch on July 21st. And since Xiaomi has been offering impressive handsets at a very tempting price, the upcoming Mi4 might come similarly priced.
However, it will not be as cheap as the ones that have been already launched in India. But when compared to the price of the QHD devices in India, this one will be pretty affordable.
So far, India will be be having three QHD devices including Mi4. Other two are the Oppo Find 7, and the LG G3. So by the end of this month, we might get to see all the three (3) devices battling in the Indian smartphone ground. And since all come with premium QHD displays and somewhat similar specs, its mostly the pricing that will determine the success of one out of thest.
