China's Xiaomi has emerged as the biggest winner this year. While the brand is yet to prove its mettle outside of Asia, many analysts have started to predict a brilliant future ahead.

After making the Mi 4 official in China a few months back, it appears that the company has already started working on the next-gen handset. The big-ticket flagship smartphone from Xiaomi may have been leaked, and it could be a bezel-free screen handset.

In fact, a number of images posted to the social network Weibo give us a clear look at the purported device. It doesn't have the capacitive touch sensitive Android buttons below the display, while the typical Mi branding is in the top left corner.

The handset in question is reportedly months away from its release. According to leaks and rumors, the Mi 5 could end up being a pricy affair. Apparently, it will come with a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 20MP rear-facing camera.

There have been several rumors suggesting that Xiaomi is working on building the successor to the Mi 4. In any case, the big story today is that the next-gen flagship handset from Xiaomi is back in the headlines.

According to Strategy Analytics, the young smartphone maker is now the third largest smartphone maker in the world, trailing only Samsung and Apple. Even though the company sells smartphones via an online route, Xiaomi is forecasting that it will sell 60 million smartphones in 2014.

Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mi4 in India sometime in December 2014. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
