Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi which has recently entered in the Indian market has now listed its first device the Mi3 in India. Moreover, also revealing the price tag of Rs. 14,999, the company says that it will start selling the handset from July 15 onwards.
Xiaomi has been one of the most successful brand in China and its first phone in India comes with a very efficient pricing and heavy specification. Looking at the specs of the phone and its price, it will probably give domestic OEMs like Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and other Chinese smartphone markers a hard run for their money in India.
Xiaomi Mi3: Key Specifications
Xiaomi Mi3 sports a 5-inch IPS display offering a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 441ppi pixel density with Corning Gorilla glass protection. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM 8974AB) processor coupled with 2GB DDR3 RAM and it runs a custom interface dubbed MIUI that is a very different take on Android.
The smartphone also features a high-end camera modules. You will find a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, Sony Exmor BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p full HD video recording along with a 2MP front-facing camera with similar specs as the rear camera.
The latest Xiaomi smartphone which measures 114mm×72mm×8.1mm and weighs 145g will house a 16 GB internal memory. Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC and will draw its energy from a 3050mAh battery.
With the specs as such and price so tempting, Xiaomi Mi3 will rock the Indian market. The device will be the lone player at this price range because as of now there aren't any smartphone with such competitive specs being offered in India by any other brands. Moreover, this is the price point where Motorola is fishing in, so we can expect a competition between the phone and Moto G, at least in terms of sales.
