While, Xiaomi Mi4 has still not reached the Indian boundaries, rumors about the flagship successor, Xiaomi Mi5 are already circulating in the tech media world. Reportedly, Xiaomi is readying itself to launch the next flagship smartphone in January next year and it's display is supposed to be made of sapphire glass.
According to a report by DigiTimes, Xiaomi may want to use sapphire glass as the display of the Mi5. It's generally believed that the Mi5 will mark an aesthetic departure from the previous device. So, we're now expecting the Xiaomi Mi5 to come in two variants: one with a standard QHD display, and the other one with sapphire display.
Talking about rival devices, very few of them have managed to use sapphire display. It was only Huawei, which recently unveiled the Ascend P7 with a sapphire display. Earlier Apple was rumored to launch the iPhone 6 with sapphire display, but the company chose not to include sapphire in the iPhone lineup.
