Xiaomi Redmi 1S Review: Battery Life and Verdict

It's actually quite shocking to find such a potentially gifted battery unit inside the Redmi 1S handset. In fact, Xiaomi just mercilessly killed off every competition in this respect.

Even though the battery takes a bit of time before it's fully charged, but after full charge, the handset lasted for a decent 9 hours. And this is after rigorous everyday use that involved playing games, surfing the web, taking photos and videos and even watching a few Lamb of God videos in the highest quality possible.

In terms of everyday usage, shuffling the handset between 3G and Wi-Fi, we didn't notice anything that would suggest that it's better than its rivals, but the unit inside should still last you at least a day of heavy usage.

Xiaomi continues to march on in its own merry ways. It did so with the Mi 3 and now the same is about to happen with the release of the Redmi 1S. The handset is far better than what the Moto E will ever offer you in terms of usability and performance.

With the Redmi 1S now in the open, other smartphone names will be forced to think outside the box as to how they can counter such an impeding danger in the form of Redmi 1S. And if not careful, Xiaomi might soon wipe away all competition to become the only name to rule the budget business.
