Xiaomi Redmi 1S Launched in India For Rs 6,999: Specs and Competition

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has already evolved as one of the toughest players in the Indian market. This was courtesy of the company's first smartphone - the Mi3. Today the company has launched its latest Redmi 1S smartphone in India at the conspicuous price of Rs. 6,999.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S: Key Specifications

The Redmi 1S sports a 4.7-inch 720p IPS LCD display with a layer of Dragontrail glass. It comes powered by a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The phone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Xiaomi's MIUI layer on top.

Talking about the photography feature, the smartphone features an 8MP rear shooter and a 1.6MP front facing camera as well. On the storage front, it uses 8GB of internal storage which can further be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

It is a dual SIM smartphone with other connectivity options like 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB support. It is fueled by a 2000mAh battery.

After going through the specs, you might have realized that the device is quite competitive and can beat smartphones like Micromax Canvas Unite 2, Xolo Q600s, Celkon Millennium Vogue Q455 and others which come at the same price range.

In the meantime, the latest lot of 20,000 units of Mi3 will also start selling on Flipkart from tomorrow at the same price of Rs. 13,999.
