40000 Xiaomi Redmi 1S Sold Out In Mere Seconds Via Flipkart: Next Sale Scheduled For Sept 23

The third time flash sale of the Redmi 1S smartphone also turned out to be a lucrative one for Xiaomi in India. It just took about 3.4 seconds to exhaust the 40,000 units of the handset from Flipkart, which means that it is now 'out of stock.'

Anyways, whoever didn't get the chance to buy a phone this time need not worry because Flipkart's Mi page notes that the registrations for the next flash sale on September 23 for the Redmi 1S will begin at 6pm IST Tuesday.

According to Flipkart, the exclusive online retailer of Xiaomi handsets in India, over 350,000 people had registered for the third flash sale of the Redmi 1S. If you are not aware, the handset is priced at Rs. 5,999. You can check out the specs of the handset below:

Xiaomi Redmi 1S: Key Specification

Going through the specs for the same once more, the new Xiaomi Redmi 1S features a 4.7-inch 720x1280 pixel IPS-LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection and a pixel density around 300ppi.

It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 slapped on top of it. However, there's no mention of an Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade for the handset. The dual SIM Xiaomi Redmi 1S with dual standby, first announced for China in May, is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC thats coupled with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

Further, it has 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). The Redmi 1S also features an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash, alongside a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
