Xiaomi Redmi Note With 8 Core Processor Launched in India At Rs 9,999: Top 10 Phablets Under Threat

Xiaomi's entry into the Indian smartphone market comes at a crucial juncture when a number of other big name smartphone makers are trying their hands on the budget section of the market.

And if you have been following up on the way the smartphone market has been charting itself out in India, you will know that the budget segment of it is where most of the business is coming from. Look at the likes of Motorola-made Moto G and Moto E.

Xiaomi, at a Delhi-based event, unveiled its new Redmi Note phablet. Set to be available at Rs. 9,999, the Redmi Note comes in with the company also unveiling the likes of Xiaomi Mi 3, Redmi 1S and its MiPad tablet offering.

Going through the specs, the Redmi Note Phablet sports a 5.5-inch display with 720 pixel IPS support. The device has 2 GB of RAM coupled with 1.7 GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor. It has 8 GB of onboard storage and a micro-SD card slot that supports another 32GB.

The device runs on Android 4.2 that has been optimized with MIUI version 5. Apart from that, the device sports a primary 13MP rear camera with LED flash, alongside a 5MP snapper at the front of it.

The phone is juiced via a massive 3200mAh battery. So don't worry about running out of juice in the middle of the day.

But while Xiaomi basks in the glory of the newly released handset, it will know that the Redmi Note isn't the only handset in the market that sporting the said specs. So here's a look at the top 10 big phablet rivals the company will face in the market.
