Xolo A550s IPS Gets Listed On Official Website For Rs 5,999

Since the beginning of July 2014, Lava's premium smartphone arm Xolo has launched several devices in the Indian market. Now the company has listed another dubbed as A550s IPS on its official website along with the price tag of Rs. 5,799.

Xolo A550s IPS is a budget handset and appears to be a stripped-down version of Q500s IPS which got launched last month at Rs 5,999. Let's take a look at the full spec-list of the recently launched.

Xolo A550s IPS: Key Specifications

The latest offering from Xolo comes with a 4- inch IPS display offering a resolution of 480 x 800pixels and churning out the pixel density of 233ppi. IT is powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core MTK6572M processor and a 395 MHz Mali 400 GPU coupled with 512 MB.

Unlike most of the smartphones, which are being launched with KitKat OS out-of-the-box, the latest Xolo A550s IPS runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS. But the company says that it is upgradable to KitKat v4.4. Camera-wise, the smartphone features a 5MP rear camera with Auto Focus that can shoot video at HD quality. At the front you will get a VGA shooter.

Connectivity optiosn include: USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, WLAN support. Xolo has offered 4GB of internal memory in the phone along with a microSD card slot via which users can expand the memory up to 32GB.

Xolo A550s IPS comes powered by a 1400 mAh battery which according to the company offers a total talktime of up to 21 Hours on 2G network and up to 8 Hours in 3G network and up to 570 Hours of standby time in 3G network.

Competition

One of the biggest challenges, well, Xolo A550s lacksAndroid KitKat OS. Currently, there are several smartphones in the market around the same price range which come with heavy duty specs including quad core processor, KitKat OS and more.. Hence, chances are high that Xolo A550s IPS might not make up to the sales expectation of the company.
