Xolo Q500 Quad Core Smartphone Launched At Rs 7,999 with X-TransPic App
Lava's subsidiary and premium smartphone arm Xolo has recently launched the Xolo Q500 quad-core smartphone in the Indian Market. The device is currently available for purchase at Rs. 7,999.

The company has always focused in the quad core phones and thus customers can find numerous quad core phones in the company's pocket.

However, the latest Q500 comes with a 4-inch capacitive touch screen OGS display offering a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and pixel density of 233 ppi.

Powering the handset is a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor (MSM8225Q) and Adreno 203 GPU which is also coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS.

Pictures can be taken from a 5MP camera with LED Flash which can also shoot video at 720p quality. It also features a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera for video chat and taking selfies.
Connectivity options remain regular with 3G (HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA up to 5.6 Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and aGPS support. While Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support with Dual Standby can also be found.
The device houses 4GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB with microSD. It measures 10.7mm thick and draws its energy from a 1450 mAh battery.
When it comes to software and features, the Q500 comes with a X-TransPic mobile application, a language translation tool that helps users translate Hindi words by just pointing the app camera at any sign board, advertisement or poster. This functionality works even when the phone is not connected to the internet.
Competition
There are massive number of devices that have launched in this price category in India of late. Thus there will be a cut throat competition among most of the devices. However, among all, Idea's Aurus 4, Karbonn Titanium S2, Intex Aqua i6, Lava Iris 458q, Intex Aqua Wonder will surely be a tough competitors against the newbie quad core device.
