Xolo Win Q900s: Company's First Windows Phone 8.1 Device Announced for Rs 11,999

Prior to the Microsoft's annual Build Conference 2014 this year, most of the smartphone makers based-out of India announced its partnership with the software giant. One of the companies that signed an agreement with Microsoft was Xolo.

Now Lava's premium smartphone subsidiary Xolo has officially launched its first Windows Phone 8.1 device dubbed as Win Q900s in the Indian market at the price of Rs. 11,999 and would be available for pre-order from online retailer Snapdeal soon for Rs. 9,999. It is said to ship in the second week of July.

With the Indian smartphone makers entering the Windows Phone ecosystem, fans can start expecting even cheaper WP devices in the future. The latest entrant from Xolo is also one of the most affordable devices.

If the specs of the handset is bothering you, the Xolo Win Q900s comes packed with a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) multi-touch IPS OGS display with scratch resistant Dragon Trail Glass.

It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM 8212) processor and 400 MHz Adreno 302 GPU coupled with 1GB RAM and runs on Windows Phone 8.1 OS.
Moreover, the Xolo Win Q900s comes with better camera module as well as it houses an 8MP camera with PureCel sensor and LED Flash and a 2MP front-facing shooter as well. And users will find 8GB of internal memory, which is expandable via microSD card.

Connectivity options include: 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and users will also be fascinated to know that this is one of the few Windows Phone devices which comes with a Dual SIM slot.

The Xolo Win Q900s which measures 135.8 x 67.2 x 7.2 mm and weighs 100 grams is powered by a 1800 mAh battery. Talking about the weight, this is said to be the lightest Windows Phone smartphone till date.

As far as the competition is concerned, the latest entrant from Xolo will have to rival against the recently announced Micromax Canvas Win W121 which comes with almost similar specifications. Apart from this one, it will also have to compete with the Nokia Lumia 630 as well.
