Earlier this month, GizBot ran an exclusive story saying that Zen would come up with a Full HD handset within this month. Now the device has been announced and its dubbed as Ultraphone 701FHD. It has been already made available at Rs. 17,999 on Snapdeal. However, this is not a completely new handset but instead a tweaked version of Zen Ultrafone 701 HD which was launched back in April.
Going by the specs, the new handset comes with a 5-inch full HD IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection. It offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
It is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and runs on Android Jelly Bean v4.2.
The phablet houses 16GB internal storge capacity which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
Connectivity options remain regular with 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, microUSB and aGPS. Apart from that, as regular as it may sound, it also features a Dual SIM (GSM + WCDMA) support with Dual Standby.
It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash capable of shooting video at 1080p Full HD quality. It also features a massive 8-megapixel front-facing shooter which is very rare in mobile devices.
The handset draws its energy from a 2050 mAh battery. The handset would be officially launched on 28th October, 2013.
A couple of days back even Micromax launched its latest Canvas Turbo with the similar Full HD display. It comes with a 2GB RAM and would be the Ultrafone 701 FHD's direct competitor. There is also Spice Pinnacle FHD Mi-525, Intex Aqua i7, Lenovo K900 and Zopo ZP990.

Micromax Canvas Turbo
It comes with a 5.0-inch CGS IPS display offering a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) OS and is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It sports 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera which we have already seen in the Canvas 4. The rear camera is also capable of recording video at full HD resolution. There is a regular connectivity options which includes 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, aGPS. Apart from that, the handset also has a Dual SIM (GSM + WCDMA) support with Dual Standby (One standard SIM and one Micro-SIM). It houses 16 GB of internal storage capacity of which only 12.47 GB is user accessible and it comes with a full aluminum casing. The latest phablet which measures 8.66mm thick draws its energy from a 2000 mAh battery.
Spice Pinnacle FHD Mi-525
The Pinnacle FHD Mi- 525 costs reasonable in comparison to Samsungs and Sonys. The device packs a 5.0-inch display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It comes with a 16.7 M colors and video recording at 1080p (30fps). It is is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory ( expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card). Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. There's an 8MP rear facing camera with Auto Focus and dual LED Flash light. Also add a 2MP front facing camera. The makers have added a 2100mAh Li Ion battery. Other connectivity options include: Dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and gesture based features.
Intex Aqua i7
The Aqua i7 has a 5-inch Full HD display having resolution of 1920X1080 pixels. The Corning Gorilla Glass protects the device against any scratches. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB of ROM. Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. There's an app called "Matrabhasha" - it's a multi-lingual application comes pre-loaded on Intex Aqua i7. The handset packs a 13-mega pixel rear facing shooter and a 5-mega pixel camera on the front. The rear facing camera is capable of recoding videos in Full HD format. The device measures 7.88 mm in terms of thickness and weighs 149 grams. Other connectivity features include: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GSM +WCDMA, 3G, FM Radio and Dual SIM capability. The makers have gone for a 2,000mAh Li Ion battery. The phone also supports microSIM.
The Zopo ZP990 comes packed with a 6 inch screen FHD display and features IPS TFT Multi-touch capacitive Screen offering pixel density of PPI 367. It is powered by 1.5GHz Cortex-A7 quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and a MT6589T chipset coupled with 1GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS. In the camera segment, one can find a 13Megapixel rear camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash and there is also a 5.0MP front-facing shooter. Connectivity options include Dual sim dual standby (WCDMAGSM+GSM), 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz), 3G (WCDMA 850/2100 MHz), HSDPA (42.2Mbps?HSUPA 11.5Mbps), Micro USB v2.0, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, A-GPS. The Lenovo K900 comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 400ppi. It is powered by a 2GHz dual-core processor powered by Intel Atom Z2580 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM (non-expandable). Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box with Lenovo's own home backed UI on the top. There's a 13MP rear facing camera with Auto Focus, Dual LED Flash Light and F/1.8 lens on the board. Also add a 2MP camera on the front. The makers have added a 2,500mAh Li Ion non-removable battery. Other highlighted specifications include: 3G, Wi-Fi, 2G, Bluetooth 3.0, and A-GPS, among others.
