It can be said that the Indian manufacturers have toiled on the phablet segment. As a result, the market is occupied with a host of large screen devices, which are welcomed by consumers as they will not eat up the entire pocket and still offer decent specifications.
In fact, the phablets offered by the India based vendors have transitioned to a great extent from simple single core Android ICS offerings to power packed quad core Jelly Bean devices. This way, the native manufacturers are striving hard to maintain a standard among the budget conscious consumers and also attracting the brand influenced lot.
Already, Micromax has gained the fame with the launch of Canvas HD - the first quad core Jelly Bean phablet launched with a budget price tag of Rs 14,499. However, soon after the announcement of the device, several other Indian companies have started coming up with similar devices.
Karbonn, another homegrown vendor well known for its performance oriented offerings into the budget smartphone and tablet market in the country is also constantly launching decent devices to increase its market share. After the launch of Canvas HD, Karbonn came up with Titanium S5, which also runs on Jelly Bean and has a quad core processor on board. The Titanium S5 is priced at 11,990 and hence, it is also a reasonable offering.
Now, Zen Mobiles has come up with a device to steal the spotlight from Micromax and Karbonn. The Ultrafone 701 HD has entered the market with a reasonable price tag of Rs 11,999 making it a direct rival to the already existing handsets.
