In a recent development, China-based smartphone maker Zopo mobile has forayed in the Indian smartphone market with the launch of a new smartphone Zopo ZP900 Leader – available at market retail price of Rs 18,999.
In terms of specifications, Zopo ZP900 Leader boasts a big 5.3 inch IPS TFT multi-touch capacitive screen with 960 x 540 pixels of resolution. Running on latest MTK6577 dual-core processor powered at 1GHz, the handset will come teamed up with 8.0 megapixel camera and 2.0MP front camera with features including LED flashlight, auto focus, enable capture nice photos at night max-picture sine cane reach and capable of capturing video at 1080phd.
As informed by the company press release, Zopo ZP900 is flavoured by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, however, it will get updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, once Google announces the release of the latest operating system. The smartphone looks quite stylish and has a sleek body and has secured raving market sales in the Chinese market. It is also being offered to Indian customers at the company's official India website at a discounted price of Rs 15,999 with 1 year warranty with a package of leather cover, travel charger, USB data cable, headphone, battery and user manual.
Further, Zopo ZP900 is a dual SIM phonesupporting Dual Standby, 3G network including WCDMA/GSM+GSM, Micro SD cards slot for memory expansion up to 64 GB. Moreover, the new Chinese smartphone will come with an internal phone storage of 4GB RAM and built-in Li-on 2300mAh battery supporting standby time of 120-180 hours. Zopo ZP900 furthermore flaunts a dimensions of149.6×78×10.2mm at a weight of 198gms(including battery). Also, the handset will support languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian and Dutch.
Under the India subsidiary, Zopo India (P) Limited, the manufacturer will distribute Zopo ZP handset series in India through its National Distributor Usha Infotech. Usha Infotech is the leading importers of fibreoptics products and telecom equipment, the company has made debut with low cost Android tablets under the brand name “NERGY” and will setup retail chain stores in India.
Zopo mobiles, is one of the largest Android handset maker and retailer in China, with around 14 retail stores in Shenzhen and upcoming international store in Berlin. Announcing the tie-up and market entry , Jitin Gupta, CEO, Usha Infotech, added his views, “The Indian market is already flooded with high-cost, Android smartphones, so as to increase the sales penetration and enable the customers for low entry level price, Zopo mobile will be the optimum choice for the Indian customer.”
Moving ahead, Zopo India will launch 5 Android handsets pre-diwali in India market with the price range not exceeding Rs 15,999 for 5.3 inch touch screen enabled Android smartphone. Moreover, the company will also launch online shopping facility to enable customers for direct purchase.
