ZTE Nubia 5 Phablet Unveiled Featuring FHD Display, Quad Core Processor and 2GB RAM

Chinese mobile manufacturer ZTE has officially announced its upcoming handset Nubia 5 phablet in the US markets. The company, reportedly said that the handset would go for pre-order in the US markets starting October 5th through Amazon at the price of $449.99 (approx. Rs. 27,591).

Sadly, the company has not disclosed whether the handset will come to Indian market or not. Apart from the Nubia 5, ZTE is also repeatedly said to launch its new device in November this year, which is said to come with a Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 800 processor. However, leaving the forth coming ZTE device at the moment, lets take a look at the specs of the upcoming Nubia 5:

ZTE Nubia 5 comes with a 5-inch full HD touchscreen display and features a stunning 443PPI pixel density.

When it comes to processing, the handset will come with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked to 1.5GHz and it will also be supported by 2GB of RAM. The phablet will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Moving on to camera, The handset comes with a Konica-Minolta 13-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and LED flash, and Sapphire Lens. The camera is capable of shooting video at full HD quality. And there is also a 2MP front facing shooter.

ZTE Nubia 5 houses a sufficient 16GB internal memory and lacks microSD card slot. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and it is powered by a 2300 mAh battery.

When it comes to features, ZTE Nubia 5's rear camera features intelligent stabilization. The camera app also offers a great experience through options such as Fun Mode, Auto Mode, and Pro Mode, each with its own set of features and capabilities.

One can also find a Digital Dolby Plus audio technology incorporated into the handset and the smartphone comes with glowing red capacitive buttons.

Competition check

ZTE Nubia 5 comes with a relatively old processor Snapdragon S4 Pro while Qualcomm has already got other processors like Snapdragon 600 and 800 featured in most of the recent phones like Xperia Z ultra and others. But if the handset comes within the range of Rs 25,000 in India, the specs are worth the price. However, it will have to face handsets like Sony Xperia C and HTC One Mini which will be released in the market soon. Other competitors include Samsung Galaxy S4 and Xperia Z among others.
