AKG K512 music headphone, simple design and quality build

AKG K512 is the latest music headphone from German firm, AKG which is attracting the music lovers for its simple design and quality build. The structure as well as frame of this headphone is quite different when compared with standard headphones out in the market.

AKG K512 music headphone can be fit comfortably to one’s head as the headband slides out from the top. It is easily movable as the headphone has plastic covered bands holding the headphone cans. Although it is a little flimsy, the headphone is made light. The compartments holding the drivers are also built out of plastic. These are closed headphones without any opening on the rear side.

The ear pads are not that comfortable as it is made out of synthetic material. In humid places, users will feel sweaty if they use for longer duration. The cans are quite small and it just covers the ear without any free space. The headphones are a little bit loose, and users can feel that it moves about a bit while wearing.

AKG K512 music headphone performs at an 18 to 20,000 Hz frequency range. It features an impedance of 32 Ohms. It can be used along with any gadget like a phone, tablet, PMP, PC or notebook. The 2.5 meter cable allows you to sit a little bit far from the source too giving the space for you to be movable. The AKG K512 uses a single cable for connecting two cans unlike the two separate cables seen in Sennheiser HD650. The cable is sturdy as it is designed out of plastic. The connector is not gold plated, but there is no variance in the quality offered while considering the ones using gold plated connectors.

The performance of the AKG K512 music headphone is quite impressive as it offers noiseless sound. The bass is somewhat weak considering the high quality build of the headphones. This bright sounding headphone offers quite natural quality. This is a value for money product which is offered for a price tag of within Rs. 3,000/- in the Indian music market. This is definitely one headphone you should consider when going to a music accessory shop next time.
