Headphones are indispensable devices for music lovers. But these once humble looking contraptions that came with Sony Walkman and are now available along with mobile phones have significantly improved and evolved to become high-tech pieces of art and boldness.

Creative’s recent launch of its WP headphone series witnessed as much buzz as was seen with its Ziio tablet launch held simultaneously at the same venue.

Creative has indeed announced its WP series wireless headphones among other wireless devices that showcase Creative’s technical prowess and wireless capabilities.

One of the Creative WP speakers announced was the Creative WP-300. This is an apt-X codec wireless product and has been conceived to enable users to listen to quality audio from an A2DP Bluetooth mobile device, which could be a smartphone, notebook, netbook, iPad or any touch screen tablet, iPhone, etc.

Equipped with Neodymium drivers featuring the Bluetooth apt-X technology, Creative WP-300 headphones have a range of around 10 meters. There is also a great convenience factor – these headphones have a Flat-fold design enabling users to fold the ear cups and neatly tuck away their headphones in a bag. The headset is also intuitively designed for the user to change tracks, adjust volume, etc.

Creative WP-450 was another of the headsets that were revealed. The WP-450 is claimed to be able to deliver audio playback for a maximum of 9 hours and talk time up to 8 hours. It will be available in a protective pouch with USB cable to charge. Creative WP-350 will also be available this way. Both these headphones are characterized by their leatherette cushions and attractive designs.

Creative WP-250 has a behind-the-neck and in-ear design. Creative has equipped these three headphones with high-tech features such as speech enhancement processing and noise suppression technologies. They also come with playback, call and volume controls that are easily accessible.

Innovation, quality and convenience all come at a price and Creative’s WP headphones are certainly pricey. Their performance in the market remains to be seen. Creative WP-300 is available for a price of Rs 4, 000, while the WP-350 has a price of Rs. 5, 000.
