Apple iPod was able to bring about a musical revolution and it completely overhauled the music industry. Following the lead many more companies came up with their own versions of portable media players. But none could match or come close to the sales figures of iPods. With the advent of iPod Nano Apple's reputation increased even more and they where able to create a new bench mark.
Lunatik Lynk is an ultra premium edition of the iPod Nano watch band that gained much popularity and became the favorite among gadget lovers. The Lynk is not at all a simple iPod Nano accessory. It has evolved much since the introduction of the original LunaTik watch case kit. The device is engineered in such a way that it wraps around the Pod Nano’s body so that only the needed controls and the screen will be exposed. It can then be worn in the hand just like any other wrist watch.
The main part of the device is an aluminum frame that consists of two pieces and it encases the iPod Nano completely except for the two sides and the front glass. The strong aluminum body protects the iPod Nano from any kind of accidental bumps or shock that can come across in daily use. There is no protection for the screen though. One notable problem in the device is that the iPod Nano cannot be detached easily from the device. To access the device you will need to unscrew the screws that hold the frame.
Lunatik Lynk expects from their users to use the iPod Nano mainly when it is in their wrist band. Headphones can be connected to it directly and music can be enjoyed while the player is in the wrist band. One problem is that you may not be able to use many of the docking accessories including the universal iPod docks .If you want to use them you will have to connect them via docking cables and even then it would be relatively a bit difficult to use them. So once you decide to use the device you will have to cope up with these difficulties and get familiar with the new way of using it.
The device looks extremely nice all in all. The matte aluminum finish in the Lynk has the same design aspects as that of Apples products. When iPod Nano is inserted it blends in quickly wit the color scheme of the Lynk. The two sides that expose the iPod Nano is designed in such a way that irrespective of the color of the player inside, the bands and casing match with it entirely.
The device looks solid it is surprisingly light even wit the player inside. This is because of the rubber inserts in the band. The rubber inserts serves the dual purpose of reducing the amount of metal inside the band and also provides good flexibility to it. There are additional links provided in the package so you can add them in case you want to lengthen the band. The links can also be removed very easily by the use of just a paper clip.
Lunatik Lynk comes in two colors, black and silver. The device is a bit expensive with a price tag almost matching the price of the iPod Nano itself. Both the black and the silver band are expected to come with an affordable price.
