Apple’s iPhone and iPad have been two devices that have really made an impact on the world of personal computing, communication and consumer electronics. We all know of Steve Jobs’ pioneering efforts in personal computing. Indeed, Apple itself has contributed much to make the world a better place.
There are obvious limitations though for any smartphone or tablet, let alone the iPhone and iPad. Their audio speakers aren’t quite up to the mark. But that’s what you can expect from devices as compact as these.
You can have a great personal music listening experience, but if you want the surround sound effect you’ve got to add some extra devices, and surprisingly, most of these are as compact and easy-to-use as your tablet or smartphone.
Genius, manufacturer of mobile phone and computer peripherals, has recently launched speakers for the iPhone smartphone and iPad tablet. Genius claims these devices can really extract high quality sound from their respective devices.
The SP-i600 docking speaker for the iPad has a rotating base so that you can connect the speaker and still use the tablet in a landscape or portrait view.
Users can listen to music and even watch movies while they power the iPad. The speaker system consists of 4 watt speakers for a rich and deep bass that doesn’t compromise on the clarity. According to Genius, these speakers can truly serve home theatre purposes. They also come with a remote control.
The Genius SP-i500 speaker for the iPhone offers great audio playback. The total output of the speaker is 2 watts (RMS). The speaker comes with four buttons for – playing/pausing, power, and increasing and decreasing volume.
The SP-i500 speaker for the iPhone also functions as a charging station and alarm. Users are also provided access to the AppStore from where they can get themselves the free alarm application for the iPhone. They can get it working with the snooze button.
Both the Genius SP-i600 and SP-i500 have an overall black design that is sleek and reasonably good looking. Genius is offering SP-i500 for a price tag amounting to around more than Rs. 6,500 and the SP-i600 for around Rs. 3,500 in India, though further details are yet to be revealed.
