Samsung BD C6900 is not just a simple optical disc player that can play Bluray files. It is a complete feature packed entertainment system right out of the box. This amazing piece of technology along with Samsung brand value was able to create some serious competition in the audio segment.

The flashy looking player has quite lot of surprising features under its hood. The device has dimensions of 16.9 x 7.9 x 1.7 inches. The player weighs about 1.7 kilograms. The transparent cover that houses the optical disc has a blue illumination to it and when turned on it gives a very trendy and modern look to the player.

The top of the player has some touch sensitive buttons for the basic controls like play or pause, forward and backward, etc. The position of the buttons offers some inconvenience if you are to place the device in a cabinet or if you want to cover the device with a cloth or something. There are large icons provided at bottom that lets you choose the type of media file that you want to play like music, videos, pictures, etc.

The top of the screen consists of icons to online streaming media links including the icons for Pandora and Netflix. The small problem is that these icons are permanent and cannot be swapped to another one. So even if you don’t like a particular streaming media provided you will have to live with the fact that its icon will be there in the main screen.

Samsung's application platform in the device lets you browse through several applications that are available online and download them. The device can also browse through media files in a portable USB drive connected to it. Samsung BD C6900 is a 3D capable Bluray player. This player coupled with a 3D TV and viewing glasses will offer you the most amazing 3D experience that you can get from a home entertainment system.

The device features an internal 1GB of storage memory. This offers enough space for all those applications that you may want to download. Also the video contents that are streamed will be stored in it. The built in Wi-Fi access lets you connect easily to the net and by doing so it can access the thousands of media content that are available in the World Wide Web. The device can also play media files from a PC connected to a local network or from a USB drive.

The USB version in it is USB2.0.There is support for high resolution DTS and Dolby formats too in the device. The device can output up to 7.1 channel audio. It has a HDMI output to.
