Sonos music player won’t have remote controls now
Sonos has the reputation of being a pioneer in the manufacture and development of superior quality Hi-Fi music systems. The hot news around the international market is that the company has declared that it won’t be making use of the remote controls from now on for its music systems.
The company has said that it has brought an end to the hardware controller which they were manufacturing for a long time. The hardware controller for the Sonos music systems was known as CR200 controller.
Some of the key features of CR200 controller were;
1850 mAh Lithium-Ion Polymer battery
Controls the music at any point where the Sonos Zone Player is installed
3.5 inches of screen display size
640 x 480 pixels of screen display resolution
Capacitive Touchscreen followed by an on-screen keyboard
Sonos has stated in an official statement that they will no longer sell the remote controller from 1st June of this year. Instead of that the customers making use of the Sonos music systems will have to depend up on the free software controllers that the Sonos Company is making available for purchase for the corresponding PC’s as well as Mac’s. Similar will be the case with the android smartphones as well as iOS based phones and tablets.
Key Features of the controller app Sonos Controller 3.7 for Macs and PCs
Left Colum provides the users with a list of Sonos devices
Center part displays the queue as well as the cover art
Right part shows the library as well as search options
Drag and Drop functionality
Multiple Tracks can be moved simultaneously
Permanent Search Box
The latest decision to roll back the remote controllers is a paradigm shift for the company. Sonos has said in a statement that they knew from the beginning time of the iPhone explosion itself that controlling of the music systems with the product that users are carrying on their pocket is what the company actually needed.
Key Features of Sonos Hi-Fi music systems
Users can wirelessly manage all their music they wish to listen
Users can also create playlists from any part of their home
Users can also organize the songs they are listening to in a single place
It is also possible for individually controlling the volume in each of the rooms present in the home
Sonos is also expected to credit the warranty of the control product for two years from the registration date. The updates to the software are also expected to continue in the days to come.
