Bose rolled out its first product featuring Apple’s AirPlay, the SoundLInk Air Digital Music System. This device is capable of streaming audio from iPad, iPod touch, iPhone or even iTunes library in a computer using Wi-Fi and Apple’s Airplay Technology. It also supports a 3.5 mm auxiliary input which is at the back of the unit.
The SoundLink Air Digital Music System from Bose also incorporates digital signal processing, neodymium transducers and acoustic waveguide speaker technology delivering a unique experience to the user.
Airplay, Apple’s unique technology in which Airplay-enabled devices can stream music or audio wirelessly from iOS devices, is effectively used in SoundLink Air Music System avoiding the need for ‘docking’ the iOS device.
Users would require a Wi-Fi router to use this system. Setting up AirPlay is simple for experienced users. For those who are unfamiliar, Bose provides a USB cable which allows the user to connect the system to the computer allowing them to get the instructions online from bose.com/wifi set up for setting up their SoundLink Air Digital Music System.
The music system, which comes in a glossy black finish having a metal grille has an infrared remote as well as a rechargeable battery which is optional allowing you an unplugged experience anywhere.
The SoundLink Air Digital Music System is available from Bose stores across India and online at a price of Rs. 22,388. Other AirPlay-enabled devices like Philips DS9800W priced at Rs. 65, 990 are expected to face stiff competition from Bose’ AirPlay enabled product. The rechargeable battery, if needed can be bought for a price of Rs. 6.638. You can buy the Bose SoundLink Air Digital Music System from Apple Store.
