Airtel Alert Service Launched For Subscribers to SMS Location Details in Emergency
Shed your worries for now it’s easy to know about your loved ones well-being and location in an emergency! Bharti Airtel now launches the new 24X7 emergency alert service for its customers. The service is meant to help its subscribers inform their loved ones on their whereabouts with a call or SMS. Airtel customers can now send alerts to their family members and relatives just by a call. The alert sends the geographic location of the caller to 10 pre-defined numbers. The customers can also send a “SAFE” SMS. This SMS alert will then be sent to the 10 numbers indicating the sender’s well-being.
The service will prove helpful to people of varied classes. Teenagers, migrant workers, professionals, office- goer’s find it most helpful in case of an emergency. The service is charged at Rs. 30 for 30 days. The service remains active even in the case of a minimum balance. Just by dialing the number 55100 a voice alert or SMS will be sent to all the 10 registered numbers. The customers can also type HELP in their message box and send it to 55100.
This service will be of great use during a natural calamity such as tsunami, earth-quake or flood and also in case of other emergencies such as a terror attack. It is also very easy to get it into your account. Just type START or START spacest mobile number>, nd mobile number>… and SMS to 55100(toll free). The service does not require any internet service and can be used in any handsets.
The 10 pre-defined numbers are supposed to accept an invitation from the subscriber to avoid spam and it is a legal requirement. When someone refuses the invitation they are not added in the group. You receive an OBD call once you are subscribed. You can activate or deactivate tracking alerts by sending an SMS TRACK
