Airtel post-paid customers who visit the United States can have a sigh of relief with the mobile network giant offering three new attractive international roaming packs. The offers give the customers free incoming calls up to 5 hours. The customers can call back home for a discount of 87% on the original tariff subscribing to these roaming packs.
Apart from the providing 5 hours of incoming calls, the call fares are at Rs. 20 per minute for calls to India and the same rate applies for any local calls made in the U.S.
In the tariff pack which costs Rs. 8,500, 300 minutes of free incoming calls are allowed. The outgoing charge for this pack is Rs. 20 per minute for local U.S. calls and calls to India.
The other two tariff packs cost Rs. 3,500 and Rs. 1,000. In the first pack, customers will get a free incoming time of 60 minutes and on the latter pack they get only 10 minutes of free incoming calls. The outgoing rates of local calls and calls to India are Rs. 35 per minute for the Rs. 3,500 pack and Rs. 60 per minute for the Rs. 1,000 pack.
When the free minutes expire, the customers will be charged Rs. 60/minute in the case of Rs. 1,000 pack, Rs. 35/minute for Rs. 3,500 pack and Rs. 160/minute for Rs. 8,500 pack for any incoming calls.
The standard rate that Airtel usually offers for U.S. roaming is between Rs. 61 to Rs. 77 per minute in the case of incoming calls and Rs. 120 to Rs. 160 per minute for back home calls.
Airtel also stated that the rates would remain standard for other international calls, data usage and message service.
