In fresh developments, Apple has retorted to Samsung’s court filing which the latter had sprung last week, by adding some of its own paperwork. During the middle of last week of November, Samsung had filed a request at the court requesting that fourth generation iPad Mini and fifth generation iPod, iPod Touch be included in the list which is to be scrutinized under trial that starts in a California court in 2014. Apple waited until the weekend to respond by requesting the inclusion of several other Samsung gadgets to the basket too.
Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 Mini and Galaxy s3 with Android 4.1 are among other devices that Apple has freshly requested the court to cover under the case.
This latest round of tit-for-tat blame play has in its latest additions to the gadget list covered in the case, iPhone, Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Nexus which runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Been OS. The model of Galaxy S3 in the U.S Market, which has not yet started using Android 4.1 OS was also part of these additions.
Apple had won the California case against Samsung in August, on the exterior design issues as opposed to Apple’s claim of the latter having copied several of its patented software features. However, this time around things are getting serious with the case dealing with the software patents and UI patents, which might drag the Android producer, Google too into the fray.
The developments witnessed last week show that the ongoing legal battle between the gadget giants has a long way to go.
