Apple iPhones Get a Price Hike in India

Blame it on the recent budget declarations or on any other thing you wish to but Apple has declared a price hike on all it's models and there's conviction in their proposal.

The prices were hiked after the Indian government proposed an increase in excise duty on mobile phones imported into India form the existing 6% to 12.5%. That's double the excise! Pray to the Almighty that the price hike wasn't double as well.

Apple iPhones Get a Price Hike in India

Apple formally announced that all iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models will cost Rs. 2,500 more. This means the iPhone 6 will now start at Rs. 56,000 for the 16GB variant instead of Rs. 53,500 and the 64GB and 128 GB iPhone variants will cost you Rs. 65,000 and Rs. 74,000 respectively.

The 16 GB iphone 6 plus will start at Rs. 65,000 and the 64 and 128GB variants will cost Rs. 74,000 and Rs. 83,000 respectively.

This price rise has shown impact on the previous models as well The 8GB iPhone 5c is now priced at Rs.33,500 and the iPhone 5s will now come at a starting price of at Rs.47,000 for the 16GB variant and Rs.51,500 for the 32GB variant.
