China is in plans to allow the next generation for commercial usage within 2015 after it is first tried out in 2013. This next generation system of internet actually expands the capability of the IP address and also improved the internet speed. This is also expected to create a large scale of employment as per the statement made by the Chinese cabinet.
The next generation internet technology is known as IPv6 (version 6 of IP address) and it is the upgraded version of the current one IPv4 in which all the IP addresses are about to get used up. The new version has a technology that will open up a large pool of internet addresses that are virtually inexhaustible when it comes to the foreseeable future, claim the experts.
The current version, IPv4 was developed way back in 1980s and it has a capacity of around 4 billion IP addresses only. The new technology has a bandwidth of 2.5 to 10 Gbps that is almost 100 times faster when compared to the current speed.
The government of China is in plans to first try out the this system within 2013 and then expand it in the year 2014 and finally launch in within 2015. China is the biggest internet market in the world with about 500 million users and the companies based in China are encouraged to develop innovative new technologies on IPv6 like cloud computing and more.
The IPv6 internet networks were built in certain research centers in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing since 2004 for testing purposes.
