He said that it was felt that younger generation was much more on Facebook than Twitter. The Ministry had actively used its Twitter account to give update of the operations 'Raahat' in conflict-ravaged Yemen and 'Maitri' in quake-shattered Nepal.

The Facebook page, 'Ministry of Defence, Government of India', has various albums and information regarding various aspects of the Ministry. Officials are also working on a new website for the Ministry which will be "much more interactive" than the current one.
