Delay in BSNL tablet retail availability
BSNL launched three cheap tablets some time back and now the availability of these tablets have been delayed. These are Android powered devices that are available between a price range of Rs. 3,499 to Rs. 13,500. Though delayed, the devices will be delivered to those consumers who had booked them online.
A spokesperson of Pantel Technologies, the manufacturer of BSNL tablets told that there are some logistic issues in the dispatching of the devices to the retail outlets but in the due course of time the consumers will have their tablets as promised provided they had booked it online.
He added that the company has partnered with Gati courier services to deliver the tablets and to have the already booked ones dispatched to the consumers who ordered online. The three tablets were expected to available in the retail market and in the BSNL contact centers by 5th of March and even the shipping of the booked ones were supposed to debut by the same day.
The three tablets are T-Pad IS701R, T-Pad WS704C and T-Pad WS802C. Of these three, Penta IS701R is the entry level model that is available for a price of Rs. 3,499. It has the Android 2.3 operating system and a 7 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. It has a VGA camera at the front that facilitates video calling.
T-Pad WS704C is the mid range tablet with a 7 inch touchscreen display. It has the same features as the previous one and in addition also has 3G connectivity, SIM card slot, Bluetooth, A-GPS and more. It is available for a price of Rs. 10,999. The higher end model is Penta T-Pad WS802C with a 8 inch display and a SIM card slot. It has 3G and 2G connectivity. The other features are similar to the ones in the mid range model. This tablet is available for a price of Rs. 13, 500.
