According to an annual online survey, netizens in the US have searched for facebook more than anything else on the internet. This finding comes as a shot in the arm for facebook which is reportedly on the wane after Google+'s emergence.

The survey conducting online firm has also revealed that the total number of searches for facebook was 4.42 percent of the online searches, which is a healthy, positive rise compared to preious years. The survey's findings can also be interpreted as people searching for facebook more than anything else on the internet. The online firm also stated that Facebook has been able to maintain it's position in the top ten social networking sites for the second consecutive year.

US netizens have also preferred to do searches instead of having an address which is really good for facebook's future prospects. The survey also found out that facebook was accorded the top priority in the top 50 searches that the US netizens have made.

Whereas in the U.K people have prefererd to use short names in comparison to the U.S where people use the full names while searching. For E.G: People in the U.K had typed in "F.B" instead of facebook, the google predict automatically recognized "F.B" as facebook and displayed results. This in turn is a good sign.

Thus, we can say that Facebook still dominates the social networking world in the U.S & U.K. If facebook is currently appearing in the top 50 searches, then it is indeed a positive sign even for future enhancements. Facebook rocks!.
