Finally! Nokia PureView 808 is launched in India [Video]
Nokia has finally launched the much awaited phone, the PureView 808 after a lot of fanfare. The 41 MP camera phone is available for a price in India of Rs 33,899. The handset sports a 41 MP camera with the Carl Zeiss optics technology which is its highlight.
The camera lets users to capture images at several resolutions ranging from 2 MP to 38 MP. Though the specifications state that the camera sensor is of 41 MP, it can capture images at a maximum resolution of 38 MP. Check out the self promo video shot by Nokia PureView 808.
Previously, Nokia announced that it will launch the handset in India in May. Unfortunately, the handset could not make its presence as expected. There were a lot rumors regarding the price of the handset and its launch date. Earlier, reports stated that the device will be launched for a price in India of Rs 29,999. Then, the online retailer buytheprice.com listed the device for a preorder at Rs 32,999.
Nokia denied both these prices and said that it will announce the price of the handset while it launches the device in the country. Later, Nokia Shop itself listed the handset for preorder for an unknown price. After all this, there was a countdown timer last week with a preorder listing. Even that ended up without announcing the launch date and price.
Finally, the Pureview 808 is released in India. Its price is Rs 33,899 which was not expected. It was believed to cost between Rs 29,000 to Rs 32,000. It is to be noted that Rs 33,899 is the MRP and the street price will be around Rs 30,000.
The handset is based on the Nokia Symbian Belle operating system. It sports a 4 inch AMOLED display with ClearBlack technology. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 that is scratch resistant. The handset is equipped with a 1.3 GHz processor and has 16 GB internal memory that can be expanded to 32 GB. There is a 512 MB RAM in the device. Read the reasons to buy PureView 808.
