iPhone 5: Apple Lightning Dock Connector Now Shipping

The lighting docking connector for the newly released iPhone 5 has already started shipping. Dongle is also included with the adapter. Users were anxious to have this dongle as they can connect older dock accessories and chargers with iPhone 5 through this dongle only.

iPhone 5 customers in Australia seem to have already started receiving notifications about the shipping of the 30-pin lighting dock connector. Apple’s online store has mentioned the release month as October though no exact shipping date has been specified for regions other than Australia.

Apple sources informed that the new dock connector is designed to provide more space for the iPhone 5 device to include more features. This is one of the main reasons why the new adapter has been designed comparatively smaller than the earlier dock connector versions.

One of the major advantages with the latest lighting dock connector is its flexibility to get connected on either side. Users do not have to worry about any kind of damage while inserting the connector in to iPhone5 on the wrong side.

There is no information regarding the shipping of the dock connectors in markets such as US and other countries where iPhone 5 has been officially released. There is also no confirmation regarding the availability of the short 0.2m cable with a 30-pin port and lighting plug on either sides.

The shipment notification stated, “We are pleased to inform you that one or more of our items has been shipped.” Apple Store also stated in the notification, “If you ordered more than one item, they may ship separately.”
