Karbonn to launch a Jellybean tablet for Rs 11,000
Karbonn Mobiles is all set to launch a tablet in India in August. This new tablet is believed to be powered by the Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system. The managing director of Karbonn Mobiles, Pardeep Jain said that they will be launching Karbonn Smart Tab 4, a 9.7 inch tablet with Jellybean OS in August.
He added that they will offer the tablet for a competitive price and make the technology affordable for the consumers. The Smart Tab 4 will be priced around Rs 11,000.
Coming to the features and specifications, the Smart Tab 4 will sport a 9.7 inch screen that is protected with Gorilla Glass technology. It will be equipped with a 1.5 GHz processor and will have connectivity features like 3G (through USB dongle), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Jain added that Karbonn Mobiles will be launching another version of the tablet with SIM functionality. This will be launched in September and will be bundled with the SIM and free data plan from a leading teleco.
The Google Nexus 7 tablet that was announced by Google last week is also powered by Android 4.1 Jellybean. It is also expected to be priced around Rs 11,000. This makes it clear that the Google tablet and the new tablet from Karbonn will be falling at the same price point and will be rivals.
