Kids are exposed to smut by mobile phones
The mobile phones have established themselves as a basic necessity in the current world but a recent study has found that they are spoiling the small kids right at eight years itself and expose them to smut.
YouGov has conducted a study and has revealed that about 1.2 million kids in UK have used smartphones to watch violent and pornographic websites. This study was based on a total of 1,000 kids of the age group 8 to 15 years. It also found that half of them had smartphones like iPhone and most claim that their parents got them the device.
One fifth of them said that they watched such offensive content on their phone. So 1.2 million of the 6 million total in the above mentioned age group have accessed illicit content through their phones.
About 90% of them who were questioned had no security settings on their device and about 46% of the parents are unaware if the device was necessary for their kids.
Another 18% of the kids around 15 years old said that they are receiving unwanted messages and calls and are bullied by others. Since 2007, the government is getting advise on child internet safety.
The parents have to wake up and get to know about the risks of the mobile phones in their kids who are growing. If in case a kid has a phone with internet access in it, the parents have to think so as what they might access through it.
