LG to unveil Optimus Vu 2 next month

LG is planning to announce the Optimus Vu 2 smartphone officially. The brand will be launching the phone at the IFA 2012 event to be held in late August in Germany. The event is believed to feature many new device launches.

As per a South Korean newspaper, DDaily Korean, the company is planning to launch the second generation phablet (smartphone-tablet hybrid) with a 5 inch display.

Last year, at the IFA Germany convention event, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note phablet. The recent rumors are that Samsung is planning to introduce the Galaxy Note 2 at the IFA 2012. Many be LG is silent about the launch of the Optimus Vu 2 to give a tough competition to the Galaxy Note successor.

The LG Optimus Vu 2 is expected to feature a 5 inch high definition touchscreen display of 720p resolution. The device might be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor. Interestingly, the Optimus Vu 2 will feature the LTE network support.

There are no further details about the Optimus Vu 2 phablet. We can expect it to have the Android 4.0 ICS operating system. As per all these details, the LG Optimus Vu 2 seems to compete with the Galaxy Note 2 directly.
