Loop Mobile introduces Traffic Alert Service in Mumbai

Loop Mobile has launched traffic alert service for its subscribers in Mumbai. The service targets at providing a better traffic e experience for commuters in Mumbai. Users can subscribe to traffic alerts from Loop Mobile by sending a text message with ‘SUB TRAFF’ as content to 53535, which is a toll free number. 

Users can also activate the service by dialing the USSD code *888*8#.Loop Mobile representatives claimed that the company is the first operator in India to launch such a service in Mumbai. This traffic alert service will allow subscribers of Loop Mobile to select the start and end locations while choosing the time to receive real time traffic information throughout the day. 

COO of Loop Mobile India Limited, Surya Mahadevan said that the company as a Mumbai operator aims at catering the specific need of subscribers thereby enhancing the mobile experience. He added that the company is glad to offer this solution which will allow subscribers to stay informed about congestion on the roads. He also mentioned that the new service is yet another addition to the company’s wide array of VAS services. 

Loop Mobile is implementing the new alert service by sourcing live traffic information from the traffic police control room. The information thus received will be forwarded to subscribers during peak traffic hours of the day. The company said that it is planning to include travel time estimates and alternate route suggestions via SMS in future. The cost of the service is Rs.1 per day for prepaid users. 

Postpaid users can avail the service for Rs.30 per month. After subscribing to the service, users will be able to set their route preference by sending a message to 53535 with the text as ‘SMS TRAFF to .Once this is done the subscribers will receive daily alerts along that route. On-demand alerts can also be obtained by subscribers by sending GET to to 53535.
