Lumia 920: Windows Phone 8 Invites For October 29 Event Teases Nokia Smartphone

Microsoft is planning to officially debut the Windows Phone 8 OS on October 29 at a special event in San Francisco and the company has already sent out invites for the same.

Now, there is some more information on about the event claiming that Nokia is the brand hero of the software giant.

According to a Slashgear report, the invite for the upcoming Windows Phone 8 release event shows a yellow Nokia Lumia 920 smartphone – the flagship smartphone of the Finnish manufacturer based on Windows Phone 8 OS.

The attention was highly focused on HTC as the company launched HTC 8X and HTC 8S based on the new version of the OS and as Microsoft referred Windows 8X as the signature of the WP8 brand. Also, Samsung, the world's largest smartphone vendor came up with a Windows Phone 8 handset – Ativ S.

However, Microsoft seems to have chosen Nokia 920 - smartphone with groundbreaking features like wireless charging and glove-friendly touchscreen. Moreover, Nokia Lumia 920 is considered the most innovative smartphone released by Nokia ever.

Nokia, which was once the largest mobile phone vendor in the world is now striving hard to retain its position in the highly competitive consumer market across all the markets. The only chance left for Nokia is its new Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 smartphones

When it comes to specs, Lumia 920 packs a 4.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels along with PureMotion HD and ClearBlack display technologies. The handset is equipped with an 8.7MP rear camera with PureView branding, 1.2MP front camera, 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, NFC connectivity and 2,000 mAh Li-ion battery.

On the other hand, Lumia 820, the handset features a 4.3 inch AMOLED ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixels. The handset has a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, 8MP camera with the PureView technology, a VGA front camera video calling, NFC and 1,650 mAh Li-ion battery.
